What started as a drive on Twitter to push the Creation Application follower base up past 17,000 has ended in so much more.
In exchange for getting team CA over the milestone 17k follower mark, the windsor based app development house offered to build a deserving charity or non profit organisation their very own Mobile Application. Let’s not, kid ourselves – App development isn’t cheap and most charities find themselves priced out of the market which is a real shame based on the increasing reach that Mobile Apps now have.
Within minutes of setting the challenge the CA twitter page was overflowing with new followers and support from well wishes. Within an hour the milestone was passed which left the most difficult of decisions – Which charity to pick?! After much consideration testicular cancer charity, Balls to Cancer was selected to be taken mobile.
Balls to Cancer fight cancer with fun!
Balls to Cancer were set up to raise funds for male cancer awareness and research. Their aim is threefold, firstly they want to open a male only contact point for men and boys who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families, they also want to fund a education programme for teenagers to help them understand and take away the taboo of talking about testicular cancer and asking for help, and thirdly they want to fund research into treatments and ultimately a cure for this horrible disease.
They are an amazing group of people and it’s an amazing cause. Check them out at www.ballstocancer.co.uk
With the App just going into development the charity will soon have a presence on Apples App store with the unique tool not only make it easier for people to donate to their great cause but also hopefully offering mean useful advice to detect this awful disease early.
It’s only a small thing but team Creation Application are hoping it will make a big difference.
